Botanical Burn Wands
The first time I made a Burn Wand was on the banks of the Eno, wild forging with Wills Wild Herbs. Our stillness and intent was so present, you could hear the bubbling of water against the rocks and see the water spirits reflections cheering us in their reflection of waves on the rocks. He has since left this world but his lessons live with me and every wand I make, withe the season and with the spirit of the plant.
It is important if you are using smoke medicine to clear, protect and and enhance your life, you are sourcing from sustainable, non-appropriative sources. Those who are asking permission of the plant and not over-harvesting so there is a legacy left for the plants propagation and the life around it.
When I make burn wands, I am in a meditative state when gathering and when making. I also pull oracle cards to accentuate the spiritual attributes of the harvest and the moment.
